About
Beltway Ramblings is a business blog focused on the real estate market inside the beltway in Washington DC.
The Beltway
The initial focus will be issues concerning the real estate consumer interested in Arlington and the City of Alexandria. It will expand to other areas inside the beltway with occasional information outside the beltway from Springfield to Sterling, VA.
It is authored by me, Mary De Luca- a real estate agent associated with Long & Foster Realtors and licensed in Virginia.
As you take a cruise around the beltway, don’t forget to read my Travel Guide to find a topic that interests you, or make a stop in the garage to read my archived posts. When you’re ready for a road trip, journey through my Blog Roll and enjoy some of my favorite blogs. Whatever you do, enjoy the ride.
My Focus
-
- Is on you, the client. Plain and simple. I’ll ask you questions about what you are looking for & listen to what you’re saying. I will educate you along the way so you understand every part of your real estate experience. No question is to trivial. You are going to buy real estate only a few times in your life- I do it everyday. Why not use an expert? I focus on customer service. I don’t want to sell you this property- I want to sell you your next property and your friend’s property. I focus my business on referrals and repeat business. To do that, I provide quality service.
Personal
I became a real estate agent in 2002. Prior to that I worked in the telecommunications industry for nearly 20 years. My college degree is in electrical engineering and worked as an engineer for the first half of my other career when I became interested in public policy and worked on public policy with a technical spin for the second half on my first career.I stayed in that job until the industry took a turn for the worst in early 2001 when me and most of my colleagues found ourselves unemployed and reinventing ourselves. While many re-invented themselves in other industries, I decided I wanted something different than the corporate world, followed my father’s footsteps and decided to work for myself in real estate. So here I am. In real estate for a few years now- a survivor according to the stats. I’m moving beyond surviving and thriving- finding new ways to relate to my clients and potential clients.
